Carolyn Baker
CAROLYN BAKER is founder of legendary harmony trio, Daughters of the Purple Sage, and is a Performing Artist with the Education Division of The Music Center: Performing Arts Center for Los Angeles County.
She sings, yodels, plays mandolin, bass, guitar, and “prairie percussion” on the washboard, and spoons. Baker has a new solo CD project, Lasso the Moon that can be found at Cowgirlmusic.com.
Baker is also part of a new quartet, BLUE SAGE SWING, along with David Jackson, Audrey McLaughlin, and Raul Reynoso.
Baker holds a graduate degree in Education and has completed intensive Professional Artist School-based Training Programs through Arts for All Partnership. Carolyn is author of The Harmony Handbook and has presented The Harmony Workshop at Autry Museum of Western Heritage in Los Angeles. After raising her family and teaching in a small ranching town in Arizona for 2o years, Carolyn Baker now lives in Los Angeles where she teaches, records, and performs. She credits her pianist mother and barber-shopper father for a lifetime of singing, playing, performing, and loving music.
